• My mom flew to Oklahoma to stay with me for a month to help take care of me and the baby when the baby arrives
• We welcomed Gavin Erhard Myers on July 4th TWO WEEKS EARLY!! He was born at 21.5 inches long and 8.2 pounds
• Lots of first for both Joshua and myself
• Gavin became jaundice with a bilirubin level of 17
• Gavin lost almost a pound, but gained it back and then some
• My mom flew back to Utah

My mom flew to Oklahoma so that she could be here when Gavin arrived. She arrived in Oklahoma at 3:30 in the afternoon on the 3rd of July and my water broke three hours later! Talk about perfect timing!

Gavin Erhard Myers was born on July 4th at 3:56PM! He weighed in at 8 pounds 2 ounces and 21.5 inches long!! He is so amazing and we love him so much! Josh was able to watch the birth via Skype. It is such a blessing to have this kind of technology in our lives today.

It is amazing how much Gavin sleeps but what is even more amazing is how many diapers we go through! He is the best baby and he is so calm all of the time. We are so lucky to have such a well mannered baby. It killed me when I found out how high Gavin's bilirubin level was. It was worse when he was on the BiliBed for four days. I was only allowed to take him out to feed him and change him. That is so hard for me as a new mother, but like a trouper he got over and now has beyond beautiful color. While all of this was going on he lost almost a whole pound! Luckily he gained it all back by week three of his life.
