Even though we have only been here for a short while we have been through a lot. We were here for the May tenth tornado’s that ripped through the state causing tons of damage. Luckily only our cars were damaged in these storms, but even that came to an estimated eight-thousand dollars worth of damage. Thank goodness we have insurance. We had a second tornado scare a week after those bad storms, but luckily they went right past us. We have had a couple of bad rain storms that are no fun to drive in. It’s like the Michelin commercial when the car is driving in a mini river of rain and the water from the ground is splashing up to the windows…that is what it was like. But while these storms may seem awful, they really are beautiful to watch and listen too. My allergies would like to disagree, but that is only because the pollen count seems highest after a storm.
Josh loves his new job. He does get bored from time to time, but for the most part he really likes it and will be able to take online classes. He started working nights as of the beginning of June and I think he goes back to days in July. Typically he works every other weekend, but it’s a trade-off because he only really works about four days a week.
I am still in the process of waiting for a job. I have been trying to get a job on the base because it will be nice once we live on base not to have to commute too far for work every day. Other than that all has been well here. I have started to crochet an afghan and I am about one third of the way done with it. It seems to be going pretty fast, but maybe I just have that much time on my hands. Josh and I are so happy to have such wonderful friends and family. We miss you and love you all.
Wow! I can't believe how much damage the storm caused! Amen to insurance! I'm glad that you are all doing well. Good luck with the job search and the afaghan! I can't wait to see pictures of it! :)
