·       Gavin is sleeping through the night…well most nights

·       Decided to update my blog

While it has been so wonderful having Josh home for the past month, we all knew that it it was to be short lived.  He went back to work for a week to get re-certified in his position and also to take his physical fitness test.  He scored 92.5 on his PT test!  This is so exciting!  This means that he won't have to test again for one whole year!  We are so proud of him.  Hopefully he will be able to continue his exercise routine even with his odd upcoming work schedule.

Gavin is the first grandchild on both the Myers' and the Valentin's side.  This has been very exciting for both families.  We were so happy that Daddy Dave and Sheila Mom were able to visit Gavin, but unfortunately Oma and Opa were unable to make it to Oklahoma.  We decided to take a road trip to Utah to visit Oma and Opa!  This was an exciting trip!  We got to introduce Gavin to the family and to our friends and the Valentin clan had a family portrait taken!  (The first in about 20 years).  Another exciting moment for us was that we got to take Elizabeth Taylor on her first road trip!  Who is Elizabeth Taylor?  Well Josh and I learned that with a child comes a lot of stuff!  Strollers, pack and plays, toys; so we decided to invest in a new car.  We purchased a Honda Pilot in September and since the color of the car is White Diamond Pearl I thought the name Elizabeth Taylor was fitting.

While in Utah, Gavin rolled over all by himself for the first time!  He went from tummy to back!  I'm so happy that my parents were able to be there during this exciting time in Gavin's life.  We also learned that Gavin really likes to have my hair brush over his face.  He's been laughing like crazy.  But no one can make him laugh like daddy does. It's the cutest thing to watch those two interact.  We were able to take Gavin on his first Culvers visit while in Utah.  Did I mention that this will be the first of many visits to Culvers?  Oh I love it!  Gavin also got to interact with Lickey Mickey.  He didn't know how to really react to my parent's dogs, but at least Mickey made sure Gavin got a bath one way or another.  It was also a lot of fun to watch my brother Greg interact with Gavin.  His wife was really good with Gav and Gav seems to really love them.

We were able to see our friends while we were in Utah. My best friends since we were 11 has a son that is 7 months older than Gavin.  We decided to have their pictures taken in their Halloween costumes.  I had Gavin in his skeleton pajamas and Christina had Isaac in a cute dinosaur costume.  Before we decided on Gavin's outfit, Christina dressed him in this cute caterpillar costume!  I loved it!!  We also were able to go to dinner with a man that Josh was deployed with while we were in Utah.  Funny how small this world really is.  One night we got together with my friends from high school and we ate pizza, painted pumpkins, and played a friendly game of TV Scene It (to which Josh and I lost royally).  It was a lot of fun to see them and be able to pick things right back up where we left off ten years ago.  I'm excited for the next time we go to Utah because Gavin will be older and we should hopefully be able to do more fun things with all our friends and their little ones.

Unfortunately we had to come back home to Oklahoma.  We decided to take three days to return home.  I learned on our last night in a hotel room that Buffy wasn't sleeping right at Gavin's feet to protect him, she wanted the pregnancy pillow that he was laying on!  So the last night in the hotel was an interesting one.  Buffy decided that she was going to sleep on that pillow one way or another so she snuggled right up next to Gavin.  I love our kids.  The car ride home was also the first time that Gavin had shown an interest in his toys!  So look out living room, you're about to get trashed!

Before we moved to Oklahoma, I opened up a blog.  I wrote in it a few times and then never gave it a second look.  While I know this is going to take me a little while to figure out I decided that updating my blog is going to be the easiest way for me to communicate with the family on our monthly progress.  This way you can see the pictures that go with the stories and also this is going to be a great way for me to keep a timeline of Gavin's adventures.
